Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 5, 2025

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They are used to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — so that the site can function correctly and efficiently.

Cookies Journavibe uses

Journavibe uses only essential cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or any cookie that tracks you across other websites.

better-auth.session_tokenEssential

Authenticates your session after login. Without this cookie, you would be logged out on every page visit.

Duration: 7 days (rolling)

better-auth.csrf_tokenEssential

Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks on authenticated requests.

Duration: Session

__Secure-next-auth.*Essential

Next.js authentication helpers used internally by the auth provider.

Duration: Session

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
  • No cross-site tracking cookies
  • No third-party analytics cookies that identify you personally (e.g. Google Analytics with user-level tracking)
  • No fingerprinting techniques

How to control cookies

Because Journavibe only uses essential authentication cookies, disabling cookies in your browser will prevent the app from functioning (you will not be able to stay logged in). There is no functional penalty to rejecting non-essential cookies because we do not set any.

To clear cookies set by Journavibe, you can use your browser's built-in cookie management tools. In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all site data and permissions. In Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.

Changes to this policy

If we introduce new categories of cookies in the future (for example, analytics cookies to understand product usage), we will update this policy and notify you before the change takes effect. We will not introduce advertising or tracking cookies without explicit opt-in consent.
